About CEC

The CEC (Centre for Exchange and Clearing) is the Belgian automated interbank payment system for retail payments.

Its overall objective is to ensure the smooth functioning of the payment system, which is a key requirement for safeguarding financial stability, implementing monetary policy and for preserving the general public’s confidence in the currency.

The CEC is under the supervision of the National Bank of Belgium (NBB).

Since it will be allocated 3 new projects (bank switching service, e-cession (attachment order on salary) & the ONSS HarmAttest (certificate of a company’s social debt)), the CEC is looking for a new staff member (m/w) to join its team.

Job Description

  • Helpdesk for the 3 new services to be integrated in the CEC: bank switching service, e-cession (attachment order on salary) & the ONSS HarmAttest (certificate of a company’s social debt). 

  • Incident management

  • Support & back-up project manager of the new services (projects still under development)

  • Management of the switching contact database

  • Enrolment of new customers

  • Administration

  • Set up & control billing process of new and existing services of the CEC

  • Set-up, organisation & coordination of the working groups for the new services, including reporting; attendance of the relevant Febelfin Working Groups

  • Control & distribution CEC Statistics

  • Operational Back-up CEC manager

  • Reporting to CEC manager


  • Education: Graduate

  • Personal skills: good communicator (oral & written), well organised & precise, autonomous, fast learner, customer focused

  • Languages: Dutch /French / English

  • Experience: affinity with IT-systems & processes & incident management

Start date

  • September 2017
  • Part-time at 50%, to be evaluated after 6 months
